Why do I need to track my hair loss?

To catch your hair loss early and decide when it’s time to do something about it.  20%-30% of our hair loss happens before we’ve noticed we’ve lost any.

Question 2

I just started using a hair growth therapy, but I’m concerned I won’t be able tell if it’s working.  Can the MyHairCounts® system help me do that?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your first MyHairCounts® imaging session and analysis will establish your baseline Hair Density Score and provide you high-resolution, close-up images of your scalp.  Future MyHairCounts® imaging sessions will give you updated scores and images to see what progress you’ve made with your growth therapy.  After each imaging session you’ll see your “Before and After” progress, month after month, year after year.

Question 3

Do I have to pay for the MyHairCounts® smart phone app?

Accepted Answer

Our MyHairCounts® app is free.  If you want to monitor and track your hair loss/growth over time, however (Which is really the point!) you will need to buy hair density analysis sessions—which are available for in-app purchase.

Question 4

What if my salon/stylist doesn’t offer MyHairCounts®?

Accepted Answer

That probably means they just don’t know about it yet.  If you tell them about MyHairCounts®, and you tell us who they are, then we can talk to them and get them set up.  Of course, we can also give you the name of salons in your area that do offer the MyHairCounts® system.

Can I compare before and after images of my hair with MyHairCounts®?

Yes, and those before and after images are yours, along with your Hair Density, Hair Gray-less, and Dandruff-Free scores.  They’ll be at your fingertips in your MyHairCounts® smart phone app to help you decide when it’s time to use a hair/scalp treatment or to track your progress if you’re already using one.

What scalp features are monitored and tracked with the MyHairCounts® images?

Hair density, amount of hair grayness, and amount of dandruff on the scalp

How often do the imaging sessions need to be done?

Accepted Answer

The frequency of imaging sessions is dependent upon the specific situation, and it’s up to the client and their stylist to decide.  We suggest at least monthly or every other month so you can stay on top of your progress.
